Despite the fact that we really enjoy carrying out complete refurbishment and fit out projects it is amazing what a transformation can be achieved by simply refreshing workplaces, and it’s much kinder to the pocket.
We have recently completed two projects where the existing paint colour was good old magnolia. Two coats of Dulux Brilliant White emulsion later the areas appeared lighter, brighter…even sunnier despite the drab winter weather.
Where carpets are concerned it’s true to say that with the demise of brown in the office interior market in the early eighties at least 50% of office spaces opted for blue. Literally thousands of square metres of blue carpet tiles have been laid in office spaces throughout the country. By replacing these with grey carpet tiles the two buildings somehow looked more professional but were equally if not more practical.
With this neutral backdrop it is so easy to personalise the space with a splash of scarlet, tangerine, shocking pink, lime green, turquoise or purple, black, silver……in fact any colour that takes your fancy or complements your existing branding. This can easily be achieved at very little extra cost by incorporating some contrasting carpet tiles, a couple of feature walls or some “cheap and cheerful” artwork.
By keeping the bulk of your scheme plain and simple you are also future-proofing your workplace. The world of office interior design is evolving faster than ever and by keeping to a basic neutral palette you can easily re-paint the feature walls when the lime green you chose in 2014 becomes “old hat”.
Give us a call and we can advise you how to brighten up your workplace for less cost than you imagine.
