Washrooms and Toilets

It is important that toilets and washrooms in the education sectors can be kept clean and hygienic.
It is a government requirement and part of the Building Schools for the Future programme.

Cubicles

There are a number of considerations when planning toilet cubicles to ensure that they meet the needs of the staff and students that are using them.
Washrooms should be accessible for all and there are requirements set out by the Education Regulations 1999 that must be met. For Safeguarding reasons it is also crucial that washrooms are safe and secure.
Consideration should be given to acoustics and ventilation to ensure privacy. There is also a move towards having unisex toilets alongside provision for Male, Female as well as accessible provision. We also understand that keeping your toilet blocks as vandal – proof as possible is also something that is important to you. We can supply and fit tamperproof cubicles, lockable duct panels and anti- vandal fittings.
CID Study.Space is happy to advise on and quote for washrooms in the education sector.

Sanitaryware

Depending on the end user there is a wide variety of sanitary ware options that can be installed in your new toilet block.
It is likely that you will have different requirements for different areas of your premises. Handwashing has become a hot issue in recent times and in the education sector you will probably have come to the conclusion that your sinks and handwashing facilities could do with an update and there is a huge array of options in terms of size, height and finish. The range of toilets available is also wide. From wall hung, infant height toilets to urinals and stainless steel toilets CID Study.Space can make recommendations to suit you and your setting.

Flooring

Safety is key with a school washroom floor. Alongside ensuring the floor anti-slip and waterproof we recommend you consider how your flooring is finished to maximise its durability and clean- ability.
It is also worth thinking about contrasting colours for you colleagues and students that might have reduced visibility. Finally light reflective values of your flooring should be considered depending on the light levels and glare within the room we are refurbishing.
