June and July have proven to be extremely busy months here at CID and the office has been a veritable hive of activity. We have secured a number of new contracts and have some exciting ongoing projects in a variety of settings.

During the summer months we are often kept busy with work in schools and this summer is no exception. We are proud to be working with both Streatham and Clapham Junior School as well as Streatham and Clapham High School. The Junior school is undergoing a substantial renovation and we have been working hard to ensure everything is complete by late August before the school is filled with teachers and students again. The schools are on two different sites and we have been given tight deadlines within which to complete the work.

Within our 7 week time frame we will giving the kitchen, servery and dining hall a complete overhaul with the school choosing a bright and colourful scheme. One of the main hurdles has been the removal of structural columns within in the dining hall. We are laying new flooring throughout – grey vinyl with inset panels in ‘Chartreuse’ and aptly ‘Summer pudding’. The new flooring design and inset colour panels provide clear zones for the children; visually indicating where each servery point is. This design should help to make meal times more streamlined and efficient within the dining hall. On the walls they have a neutral ‘Jabot’ colour with pops of ‘Indian Ivy’ on large feature walls at either end of the dining hall. Elsewhere in the school we are redecorating a large proportion of the classrooms with new floors, ceilings and doors. We have also redesigned many of the communal areas within the school including the library and staff areas including a new kitchenette on the first floor. Throughout August our builders and decorators will be busy completing the transformation and we look forward to publishing a detailed case study on the completed project.

The work at Streatham and Clapham high school is less extensive, focussing predominantly on 4 large classrooms where we are putting in new ceilings, LED lighting and redecoration throughout. They have chosen some smart Leader Flush and Shapland doors in ash and they’re putting in White Rock panelling, a smooth, washable panelling along the bottom half of the classrooms. The panelling is extremely practical in a classroom environment as it is smooth and light reflective as well as being washable and hardwearing. The design incorporates new grey flooring with panels in ‘Firey Fantasy’ to add colour and interest – we are confident that the end result will be an excellent environment for the students to learn in.A little more local to us in Redhill we are working on a project for a Pensions Software company over two floors. We are laying a new carpet there from Desso in ‘Maze’ and have included a border for a smart, corporate look. We are redecorating the walls and painting the existing columns in a variety of bright colours. We are also removing their old blinds and fitting new white venetian blinds to complete the décor. The kitchen area is being renovated and a new tea point built. Finally, we will be supplying new meeting room and reception furniture giving the office a bright and modern look. Here are some ‘before’ images that we captured before we started the refurbishment and fit out at the schools:

Another design that is now becoming a reality is the scheme at Anna Purna Recruitment in South East London. The company wanted to divide their exiting office space to create a new reception and meeting room. We designed a cool, neutral scheme with a dominant mural in the new reception area of a mountain scape. We look forward to the completed images of this inspiring new space.

Our work with Morrisons Solicitors is ongoing and we are completing our renovation of their Camberley and Woking offices which we will publish a more detailed case study on once finished. Refurbishment and installation of partitioning at Sutton and East Surrey water is continuing as well and we are supplying new furniture to GEW. The exciting project at Rescue Global is now complete and detailed updates on our work for them will soon be on the website. Lastly we are in the final design stages for our upcoming work at Redling CNC which begins in late September ensuring a busy few months ahead.
