School  IT Room Refurbishment

Sinai Jewish Primary School | Harrow

The existing School IT room was dark and shabby. The Head Teacher wanted it transformed into a hi-tech area where children would not only have access to the latest technology but would also be inspired by their surroundings.

The brief was to offer formal and informal learning areas, a large degree of flexibility, some storage and an industrial feel to resemble “the set from Robot Wars”.

Whilst space was at a premium, the CID design team managed to incorporate carpeted areas with bean bags, a formal learning area with table and chairs, an IT bench for their computers and other soft seating and low coffee tables for group lessons. Inter-locking industrial flooring provided a hard-wearing, practical solution for the remaining floor areas whilst the coloured inserts and brightly coloured walls added to the ambiance of the room.

The finishing touches were decals on the walls and a large storage wall unit built into the existing alcove, to ensure that the area is kept clean and tidy.
